Dr. Renu Dalal is a dynamic talent management and workforce development expert specializing in bridging the gap between education and industry needs. As a Workforce Program Manager at the Alabama Mobility & Power (AMP) Center at the University of Alabama, she spearheads initiatives that drive skill development in emerging sectors like electric vehicles (EV), clean energy, and cybersecurity. Passionate about creating sustainable career pathways, she works closely with industry leaders, educators, and policymakers to cultivate a future-ready workforce.
A proud Boilermaker, Dr. Dalal earned her Ph.D. in Engineering & Industrial Management from Purdue University, where her research explored talent management strategies and job-related outcomes in the manufacturing industry. Her work has been recognized in top academic journals, earning accolades such as the Top Cited Article Award and the Emerald Literati Award.
With over a decade of international experience spanning the U.S., India, and other global markets, Dr. Dalal has worked across diverse industries, from manufacturing and education to consulting and economic development. She has held roles at the University of Virginia and Purdue University’s Technical Assistance Program (TAP), where she collaborated with manufacturers to enhance workforce skills, leadership training, and employee engagement.
An Indian native with a B.Tech. in Information Technology and an MBA in Marketing & Finance, Dr. Dalal brings a unique multidisciplinary perspective to workforce development. Her dedication to STEM workforce has led her to serve on key committees, including the Alabama STEM Council and NaatBatt Educational Committee.
